Aja Jackson

MindUteach supports the introduction of new ideologies that transform the way we think about education. This organization was created by Aja J. Jackson of Boston, MA who spent over 20 years educating children & youth and educators in the Boston [metro] area. After obtaining her degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Aja decided to formally teach in public schools. It was there that she began formulating her newfound perspective on mindfulness in the classroom. Aja currently teaches in a teacher education program and coaches/mentors individuals (mostly educators who would like to enhance their teaching and leadership experience). Her pedagogy is inclusive, collaborative, discourse and inquiry-based, and empathic. Her life's mission is to inspire and empower. 

Aja’s favorite inquiry question is “What are the implications for...?” It pushes you to think about multiple perspectives as we re-imagine education in today’s global community. MindU Philosophy: Educating children & youth should begin with the heart...and then with the mind. Each individual (despite external factors) is capable of greatness. We must explore OUR inherent belief system, pay attention to the messages that we "emit", moment by moment, and then explore how we can inspire and empower our children. Results are always profound when we are mind-ful.
